PM Modi Lays Foundation For Three Transmission Projects in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for three transmission projects at Mahi Banswara, Rajasthan involving an investment of ₹ 13,200 crore. The three transmission projects will lay 2,300 circuit km of transmission lines, thereby creating a substantial transformation capacity.

The transmission projects include transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Phase-IV (Part-2: 5.5 GW) of the Jaisalmer/Barmer complex, transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Phase-V (Part-1: 4GW) in the Sirohi/Nagaur region, and transmission system for evacuation of power for Rajasthan REZ Phase-IV (Part-3: 6 GW) in the Bikaner complex. These will be implemented through POWERGRID Beawar-Mandsaur Transmission Limited, POWERGRID Sirohi Khandwa Transmission Limited, and POWERGRID Bikaner IV Transmission Limited respectively.

While announcing the laying of foundation for the three transformation projects, POWERGRID wrote that the company is committed to helping the government achieve its target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based economy.
